20170415 Mickey Cranks

Mickey Cranks week! This was going to be fun before it even started, with the return of a fantastic group from near Oxford in the UK.  The group has a mixture of social, sportive and racing riders, so we needed to cater for their diversity.  On Saturday, as riders were arriving during the day, we had a leisurely spin around Mancor de Valle. A lovely surprise for those out was ex Pro Dean Downing joining us for the ride.  What a wealth of experience and knowledge and Dean was chatting with everyone – thanks Dean!

So what did we get up to this week? We visited Arta, the lanes around Llorenc, Petra, Sineu, Sa Pobla, Llubi, Sencelles, Costitx, Algaida, Santa Eugenia, Randa, Montuiri, Lloret, Muro, Santa Margalida, C’an Picafort, Son Serra de Marina, Lluc, Campanet, Caimari, Sa Calobra, Escorca, Puig Major, Soller, Bunyola, Orient, Llosetta, Selva, Moscari, Santa Maria, Maria de la Salud and Pollensa.

After the weeks riding, lots of improvements, personal bests up climbs, huge amounts of climbing by some (Dom!!!), long rides for others (100+ mile ride by John & Annie) and others just enjoyed the views. All assisted by lots of evening refreshments…  Good luck through the rest of the season to the Mickey Cranks racers with their various Crits, TT’s, TTT’s, Road races, etc.
